This week's phonic assessment

Parents,

Here are some examples of what will be on the phonics test. I will give the test Thursday afternoon or Friday.

*These are not the exact words/letters used on the test but similar to show you the format and the material covered.
** If a letter is in / / it means the sound.

1. Echo this word: football. What are the two words in football?
2. Echo these words: horse - hat. What sound do you hear at the beginning of the words?
3. Echo /o/ (short sound like in octopus) . Echo /n/. Blend these sounds together to make a word.
4. Point to the Hh on the test.
5. Circle the lowercase letter.
6. What sound does the letter make?
7. Write the letter that makes this sound. /h/.

Hopefully this will help you this week! You can practice things like this at home so the test is not overwhelming! :)
